Smoke Alarm Request
Smoke alarms are rated for 10 years. The date of manufacture can be found on the back of your alarm. Alarms should be tested monthly and batteries replaced at least once a year. If the alarm is at or past the ten year point, if you are unsure of the age of your alarm or unsure that it will function properly, it's time to replace it.
Smoke alarms may be purchased at various local retailers. If you have a whole-home or integrated system, you should try to purchase compatible replacement alarms as your system provides greater safety than single units.
